Three Short Films by Colin O’Toole + Q&A
We are excited to present a collection of short films by Manchester born and BAFTA winning director
Colin O’Toole.
The first film is The 10am (2015), a dark comedy in which a father teaches his
son about their family business. Secondly, Cowboy Dave (2017), which won the BAFTA for best
British short film, is described as an English folk tale set in the suburbs of Manchester. Finally,
Cul-de-Sac (2025), which premiered at the Manchester Film Festival earlier this year and is a
comedy set in the mid-80s about a couple’s struggles in their relationship.
We are very excited to have Colin O’Toole with us for a Q&A afterwards where he will talk
about the films themselves, what it is like to win a BAFTA, and some of the difficulties of
the industry.
Aside from these chosen films, Colin has directed several other short films as well as music
videos for artists such as Ian Brown and DeadMau5. Through his career he has worked with
esteemed actors such as Stephen Graham and Salford’s own Steve Evets.
This event has been curated by our very own volunteer Alex Garside.
The screening will begin at the advertised time above.
