PLATFORM - Feb
PLATFORM is our special event for the games industry created to showcase work from developers of all sizes from across the region, to provide a stage for figures within industry to take attendees behind the scenes of their hard work, and open up a new space for the games development community to regularly connect. We aim to provide an opportunity for people to Platform themselves, their games and their work.
What to expect:
Doors will be at 19:00 and the evening will kick off with mini-presentations at 19:30 from several local devs, who will discuss their work, with the hope of gaining valuable feedback from peers. Following an extended social intermission, the second part of PLATFORM will be an extended talk by our headliner speaker, these will be behind the scenes talks, masterclasses, glimpses into production processes and more!
Feb Headliner:
Shaun Mooney: From Concept Artist to Indie Dev
For our first event of 2026 we are lucky to be joined by the very talented concept artist Shaun Mooney who will be giving us a talk discussing common misconceptions about concept art and design, and what makes a good design work. Shaun will also take us through how his concept art led him to start developing his first indie game.
Shaun is an art director and concept designer with 20 years of industry experience. Although he's primarily focused on art, he has worked in most areas of game development; from game designer, 3D artist and animation - to more senior roles like team lead, studio AD and creative director.
Shaun has worked on around 30 published titles, he is currently working as a freelance concept designer in the games industry and also working on his own indie game as part of a two man micro studio based in Manchester.

We are always on the hunt for devs to come down and talk about their current project(s) or do mini talks on an area of the industry they'd like to speak on! If you'd like to come down and show off your latest work in a 15 min presentation, please email us at
