Social codes and conventions become fateful in a captivating and satirical nail-biter about a Danish family who becomes ensnared in a situation they find it increasingly difficult to escape.
During a vacation to Toscana, Louise and Bjørn meet a Dutch couple who has a son of the same age as their daughter. A few months later they are invited to visit the Dutch family and decide to go, but what is anticipated to be a pleasant reunion radically changes when they become more closely acquainted with the Dutch’s couple’s habits and odd view of, not least, child rearing. The strained and tense atmosphere is brought to a head in this anxious thriller that plays with our proclivity to always be amiable and not cause trouble.
