When rock singer Ellen Aim (Diane Lane) is kidnapped by Raven (Willem Dafoe) and his biker gang her former lover, soldier-for-hire Tom Cody (Michael Paré), is hired to bring her back. What follows is a trawl through the city’s nightmarish underbelly, alongside Ellen's manager Billy Fish (Rick Moranis) and former soldier McCoy (WEAPONS’ Amy Madigan), that includes rock numbers, bike chases and sledgehammer duels.
Co-written and directed by Walter Hill, STREETS OF FIRE fella like a fusion between Hill's earlier film THE WARRIORS (1979) and the rock musical PURPLE RAIN (1984). The film's soundtrack features contributions from Jimmy Lovine, Jim Steinman and Stevie Nicks and the main track, "Nowhere Fast" is a certified banger. Don't miss out on this cinematic treat as there's nothing else out there quite like STREETS OF FIRE!!!
Reel Gems Film Club is all about sharing and celebrating the unsung gems of genre cinema.
