Set in the contemporary 1980s, Wings of Desire is a fantastical romance, directed by Wim Wenders (Paris, Texas (1984); Perfect Days (2023) and many more). The film follows Damiel (Bruno Ganz), an angel who yearns to feel when he becomes enraptured by Solveig Dommartin’s Marion, an acrobat in a circus. A gentle and beautifully shot city symphony that explores life, death and everything in between, featuring cameos from Peter Falk and Nick Cave.
