Screening as part of our CRUEL BRITANNIA season
Director Danny Boyle brings Alex Garland’s post-apocalyptic script and the country's capital vividly to life, with iconic scenes of Murphy wandering through an eerily abandoned Westminster and a nail-biting set-piece with a taxi tearing through the Blackwall tunnel. The film masterfully captures the grim atmosphere of a world plagued by a deadly virus.
28 Days Later serves as a gripping exploration of humanity’s resilience in the face of catastrophe, and it remains a standout film in the realm of pandemic-themed narratives.
Synopsis:
Twenty-eight days after a killer virus was accidentally unleashed from a British research facility, a small group of London survivors are caught in a desperate struggle to protect themselves from the infected. Carried by animals and humans, the virus turns those it infects into homicidal maniacs -- and it's absolutely impossible to contain.
This screening is 18+, and will feature subtitles to aid accessibility.
