Hinterland Festival Presents: Come See Me In The Good Light
Hinterland Festival is Manchester's newest philosophy, arts, and culture festival, curated by Hinterland CIC. Emerging from a passion for conscious third spaces, this city-wide festival creates spaces where communities can gather, stimulate their imagination, and explore wisdom. In a rapidly changing world, we engage with change through deep thought, conversation, arts, poetry, and open discussions about life and society, exploring what we wish to bring into being.

Film Synopsis:
Andrea Gibson’s cancer is incurable, but that’s not really what “Come See Me in the Good Light” is about. This is a story of finding joy in the little things whilst facing very big things. It’s about purpose, legacy, resilience, and the unshakable partnership they have with wife and fellow poet Megan Falley.
Filmed over the last full year of their life together, Andrea and Megan selflessly allow us access to their world. Andrea was a rockstar of the spoken word world, so it’s no surprise that a documentary about their life is filled with love, laughter, and powerful insights that drive straight to the heart of what it means to be human.
“Come See Me in the Good Light” has earned over 30 award nominations, including one from the Academy Awards for Best Documentary Feature Film, as well as winning the Festival Favorite at the Sundance Film Festival and Outstanding Documentary at the GLAAD Media Awards.
This screening will be followed by a group discussion and space to process the film.Content warning: Topics including cancer, death, grief, and mortality from the start. Also contains some sexual humour
