Join Slump Cinema for a screening of The Heroic Trio at CULTPLEX, with an introduction by Shu-ling Li, a British born Chinese illustrator.
The Heroic Trio is a silly, goofy, beautiful, action packed explosion starring the three holy mothers of Asian cinema: Michelle Yeoh, Maggie Cheung and Anita Mui.
They star as superheroes who fight against an evil master who is abducting newborn babies. The outfits are stunning, the fight scenes are absurdly violent and it is often described as a predecessor to Charlie’s Angels. It’s a gloriously chaotic piece of 90s Hong Kong action cinema, and we can’t wait to share it with an audience.
Shu-ling Li is a British born Chinese illustrator who will be introducing the film! Shu-ling has been drawing for a long time, with a background in fashion, she now works across print design and live illustration.
Cinema open from 6pm, with the screening starting at 7:30pm. You’re very welcome to join us any time between then to grab a drink, get settled and spend some time with us before the film begins.
