Satisfaction is a haunting bisexual psychological drama written and directed by Alex Burunova that follows British composers Lola and Philip, whose fragile relationship begins to unravel when the enigmatic Elena enters their lives.
Set against the sun-drenched landscapes of the Greek isles, the film explores desire, trauma, identity and the search for liberation through an intimate and emotionally charged love triangle. Drawing on deeply personal experiences, Burunova crafts a visually arresting debut that contrasts the idyllic beauty of the Mediterranean with an undercurrent of psychological tension, using lyrical imagery and an evocative cinematic style to immerse audiences in the emotional lives of its characters.
Following its acclaimed screening at the BFI Flare: London LGBTQIA+ Film Festival, Satisfaction received widespread critical praise, including five-star reviews from Attitude and other publications, with critics celebrating its bold direction, atmospheric visual language, compelling performances and nuanced portrayal of bisexuality, trauma and healing.
