David Cronenberg's perverted, erotic, grotesque and nihilistic masterpiece CRASH. Banned in Westminster upon release, dragged through the mud in rags up and down the country and now coming to Cultplex for all of the freaks of Manchester for its 30th anniversary.
Following director James Ballard (James Spader) as he finds himself entwined in the sexual lives of a group of people turned on by crash crashes following a crash of his own and the waning fires of his own married sex life. Adapted from J.G Ballard's novel of the same name this is one of the 90s most daring and transgressive works. With a stacked supporting cast including Holly Hunter (Broadcast News, The Piano, Raising Arizona) Rosanna Arquette (After Hours, Buffalo 66, Pulp Fiction) and Elias Koteas (Gattaca, The Thin Red Line, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) and some of the sexiest imagery put onto celluloid. Come for the car crashes, stay for the psychosexual modern nightmares.
All of our screenings are 18+ unless otherwise stated, and the film start time is as advertised above.
