GASP! FF 2025: Chainsaws Were Singing

Adventures await when new lovers get separated by a chainsaw

Killer.

Described by director, Sander Maran as “Monty Python meets The Texas Chainsaw Massacre meets... Les Misérables”, Chainsaws Were Singing is a loud, in your face and high camp start to the Saturday of this year’s GASP! You can expect exploding cars, musical numbers, a chainsaw solo and an iconic lesbian hedgehog amongst many other things within this satire of backwoods horror films, and what is (I’m sure we’re safe to say) the first ever romantic action horror comedy musical to come from Estonia!

GASP! is back for its third year with over 50 short films and 9 feature-length films, including the yearly Mystery Queer Classic!

As with every year, GASP! is here to celebrate the diversity we all know is present with genre cinema by bringing you a range of the latest short and feature-length horror, sci-fi, fantasy, and thriller films from people of colour, women, people with disabilities, and members of the LGBTQ+ community.

The third year of GASP! will take place at CULTPLEX in Manchester on June 27th-29th, 2025. To purchase a Day Pass or Festival Pass, please head to the GASP! Website.

This event will start at the advertised time, and is strictly 18+.
