Our first session of 2026 sees speaker and local author Matt Rogerson (@bavalamp) return for Ban This Filth: Video Nasties 101. A dive into one of film censorship’s greatest controversies, Matt will explore the era’s moral outrage, prosecutions, and bans, and showcase some of the key films, directors, and distributors of the Video Nasties.
CULT SCHOOL isn’t academic, it’s an enthusiastic dive into why these films continue to fascinate cult fans, horror heads, and film critics around the world.
For aficionados of extreme cinema, this talk will hopefully whet your appetite for the Interference Films festival taking place May 30th - 31st.

This session is led by Matt Rogerson, a PAGE International Screenwriting Awards finalist and film critic specialising in Italian and cult genre cinema. His writing has featured in home video releases for Arrow Video, Severin Films, and Umbrella Entertainment, and he has delivered lectures for the Miskatonic Institute of Horror Studies.
