PART OF AWESOME ACTION FEST 2024
Join us for a double bill of two amercian action classics, both directed by women and starring the legendary Keanu Reeves.
Both films are an excellent exploration of identity, control, and rebellion against authority through the medium of american action cinema. Utah & Neo both find themselves torn between two opposing forces—order and chaos—and must confront their roles within larger systems of control, be it the simulation or law enforcement. The Matrix is particularly special in this regard as it's Trans directors have talked at length about the film being an allegory for the trans experience.
Action with substance (and Keanu Reeves), we love it. See you in the cinema for this superb 90s double bill!
Screening as part of Art of Action, a UK-wide film season supported by National Lottery and BFI Film Audience Network.
